Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE)eliminates roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms within 7 days of being fed daily.  We suggest feeding DE for 30 days straight due to the life cycle of different parasites and to catch any hatching eggs.  Lungworms take at least 90 days of continuous feeding of DE.

DE is very possibly useful as a heartworm preventative.  It will not prevent mosquitos from landing and biting your pet, however  any internal parasite that has a stage where they pass through the digestive tract would be susceptible to the dehydrating aspects of DE.
